About
Audiobooks is a quiet way to listen to the LibriVox catalogue: more than twenty thousand public-domain books, read aloud by volunteers, with no ads, no account and no app to install. Pick a book, press play, and it remembers where you stopped.
Where it comes from
Every recording is made by LibriVox (opens librivox.org) volunteers and dedicated to the public domain. The catalogue (titles, authors, chapters, readers, genres) comes from the LibriVox API and is refreshed from time to time; how often a book is listened to comes from its download count on the Internet Archive (opens archive.org), which also hosts the audio and the covers. Audio plays straight from the Internet Archive; this site only draws the pages.
This site is not made by LibriVox or the Internet Archive. If you enjoy the books, LibriVox welcomes volunteer readers (opens librivox.org) and the Internet Archive takes donations (opens archive.org).
