Two selfish little girls, a princess and a shepherd's daughter, encounter a wise woman who lovingly shows them each that they are not the center of the universe. George MacDonald is a master at dispensing little gold nuggets of truth that lead the reader to a deeper understanding of human nature and of God’s dealings with us. This fairytale is also known as The Wise Woman, A Double Story, and Princess Rosemond.
